DESCRIPTION: EPW - Ja's McCabe, Royal Exchange, London, spring detent pocket chronometer with helical hairspring, 50mm, silver OF original consular case bearing London hallmarks for 1864, incuse"PW" marking for casemaker Phillip Woodman & Sons, white enamel dial, KWKS, capped spring detent escapement, free-sprung balance with helical hairspring, diamond endstone, spotted gilt damascene, s#01000 with matching serial number to dial. Comes with a key.
CONDITION: Mvt: Running, fair cosmetic mvt condition overall, spotted damascene finish largely reduced with portions of full loss and much of remaining detail diminished, some oxide to steelwork; dial with partially patched edge flakes at 10:30, curved hl at edge at 5, thin edge fracture under bezel at 6, tiny edge flake near 9; excellent hands; case rear lift spring is broken or non-functional, case shows medium wear, two very shallow dents to lower left rear center, two minuscule nicks to band; bow pivots freely through central range of motion before becoming tight; good glass crystal.
